For most van owners, it gets to a point where space just runs out.

More gear, more people, or just trying to make the layout work better…there’s only so much you can do inside the original footprint.

That’s where roof pods come in.

Motorcraft Adventure Developments designs and builds roof pods as a proper extension to the van, not just something added on top. The idea is simple…create more usable space without needing to move to a bigger vehicle.

All pods are built from durable GRP, keeping them strong but relatively lightweight. They’re shaped to sit properly with the van too, so you’re not sacrificing how it drives just to gain extra room.

There are a few different ways people use them.

For some, it’s about storage. A sealed space for bulkier kit that frees up the inside of the van and keeps things a bit more organised.

For others, it’s about functionality. Sleeper-style pods give you extra sleeping space without increasing the size of the vehicle, which is ideal if you’re trying to keep things compact.

And then there’s the bespoke side.

Motorcraft has built custom roof pod setups for more specific use cases as well, including commercial projects and brand work. In those situations, it’s less about adding space and more about making the van work for a particular job.

Roof pods are currently available for:

  • Mercedes Sprinter

  • Volkswagen Crafter / MAN TGE

  • Renault Master

Each one is designed with fitment in mind. They’re straightforward to install, and for anyone who’d rather not do it themselves, Motorcraft can handle fitting in-house.

At the end of the day, it’s not about just adding more volume.

It’s about making the space you have actually work.

If you’ve reached the point where you’re constantly rearranging gear just to make it fit, a roof pod usually starts to make a lot of sense.
